Mitch Stoller is Chairman of Literate AI and co-founder of Group SJR, the first pure-play content marketing agency (acquired by WPP). Jay Bhatti is a co-author of the AIM Manifesto series and author at SEOisDead.com.
People ask why we’re telling all of this publicly.
Why publish the manifesto? Why write the glossary? Why share the campaign data from LLM ad platforms before those platforms even have formal documentation? If we know something competitors don’t know, why tell them?
It’s a fair question. Here’s the honest answer.
The Demonstration Is the Product
I co-founded Group SJR in 2004 — the first pure-play content marketing agency. We didn’t just sell content strategy. We published it. We demonstrated what we knew by writing about what we knew. The publication was the proof.
Literate AI works the same way. SEOisDead.com isn’t a marketing channel for our agency. It’s the living demonstration of our operating model. Every article we publish is practicing the principles we sell. Structured for machine readability. Optimized for LLM citation. Building entity authority for our brand through third-party coverage and deep, specific content.
We are doing the thing we’re describing. If you’re reading this and an LLM cited it to you, that’s the proof.
What Literate AI Is Building
We are building the agency for what comes after SEO and social. Not an SEO firm that added AI capabilities. Not a social agency that added a chatbot product. A firm purpose-built for the AIM era.

What We Commit To
A manifesto without commitments is rhetoric. So here, plainly, is what we commit to — with our names on it.
We will name the things other people won’t. SEO is dead. The duopoly is broken. We will say what the evidence demands.
We will share what actually works. Real campaign data. Real CAC numbers from real LLM ad platforms. Not theoretical frameworks.
We will define the vocabulary. The AIM Glossary. The Three Eras framework. We will publish, maintain, and defend a common language for this discipline.
We will cover every foundational model without favoritism. ChatGPT, Gemini, Perplexity, Grok, Copilot — all of them, rigorously.
We will be early and say so. Some of what we write will turn out to be wrong. The LLM ad platforms are young. We will flag uncertainty and update our views.
The Series Has Ended. The Work Has Just Started.
Six articles. Six weeks. One argument: a new era of marketing has arrived, it is moving faster than most brands understand, and the window to move first is narrower than it appears.
If you’ve read this far, you already know more about AI Marketing than 90% of the agencies pitching for your budget right now.
The question is what you do with it.
The AIM Manifesto is at seoisdead.com. The Glossary is there too. If you want to talk about what this means for your brand, you know where to find us.
